Inn from the Cold - Kelowna

Inn from the Cold Kelowna was established in 1999 in response to the need in Kelowna for emergency shelter. It is modeled on programs from eastern Canada and Calgary. To soften the effects of extreme weather, church groups and other community members offer resources for the benefit of people who are without a home.

Our project runs with staff and the help of many volunteers, anything from setting up the shelter at night to reception, and bringing food. We also need advocates for the Inn-Home Support program. We are always in need of volunteers!

We provide three programs:

  1. Emergency overnight shelter to people living on the street during the coldest winter months
  2. Reception from the hours of 6:30pm to 8:30pm during the coldest winter months
  3. Inn-Home Support and Eviction Prevention Advocacy (year-round program).

Our overnight stay program runs from November to March.
The Inn-Home Support and Eviction Prevention program continues all year. If you are interested in volunteering for this program, please read the Brochure.
